Most Global Volunteers service programs are managed by local nationals who live in the communities we serve. However, in the early years of a new program in countries like Vietnam, Global Volunteers USA staff and volunteer team leaders manage the service programs. All volunteer team leaders have led teams to different program locations. In fact, some have managed 40 or more Global Volunteers service programs around the world!
All Country Managers and volunteer team leaders are trained and experienced in managing diverse groups of people. In addition, they participate in our annual intensive week-long team-leader training seminars. Further, all our team leaders are evaluated by the volunteers on each program and must achieve a level of excellence in their performance in order to continue leading Global Volunteers teams.
Joe Testa will lead the first team – July 26 to August 9, 2008. To read Joe's profile, click here.
Experienced and highly qualified team leaders, Pam Cromer, Michele Gran (Global Volunteers co-founder and senior vice president), Francoise Yohalem, Hu Di (Global Volunteers China country manager) and Col. Warren Williams ret. (American – Vietnam War veteran), will lead the remaining five teams.
