Diane Fredricksen, Director of Recruiting: Diane is responsible for managing and training our recriting staff. Diane brought a diverse background in marketing to Global Volunteers when she joined the staff in 1997. Diane has led and participated on teams to Brazil, Ghana, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Tanzania, Ukraine and all our USA programs.

Julie Fredricks, Volunteer Manager: Having joined the staff in 1994, Julie is an "old-timer." Julie has a BA in Media Communications and Marketing. She also works part-time as a reporter and free-lance writer and previously worked in special events and public relations for the MN suburban branch of the NAACP. Read Julie's expanded profile here.

Kristina Herman, Volunteer Manager: Kristina counsels volunteers to select service programs that match their skills and interests. She has served on service programs in Minnesota, Ghana, Hungary, China, and Poland. She has travelled to Mexico and Costa Rica. Before joining Global Volunteers, she worked with Latino victims of domestic abuse.

Michelle Latvala, Senior Volunteer Coordinator: Michelle helps
volunteers arrange programs that best match their skills and interests. As a team member, she has served in Romania,
Hungary,
Poland, the Blackfeet Indian Reservation, and Minnesota. Michelle earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Psychology with an emphasis in American Indian studies.

Katy Heskett Gibbs, Senior Volunteer Manager: Katy works with volunteers to help them choose programs that are the "best fits" for them. She has earned degrees in Biology and Journalism, and studied abroad in England. Katie has a background of volunteering beginning in childhood. She has served on Global Volunteers programs in India, the Blackfeet Reservation in Montana, Romania and Brazil.
