Ireland Country Manager

Mairin Colleary is Global Volunteers' Ireland Country Manager. A native of Dublin city, Mairin was deeply impacted by the conflict on the Island, and is committed to integration through dialogue and bringing people together. Interested in reconciliation work since the 1970's, she became involved with the group of dedicated people who re-opened the Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation in the Republic of Ireland in1994.

In 2002, Mairin became Chair of Glencree Council and in 2004 she took up the role of CEO. Throughout this time, she was involved also with the Corrymeela Community, a sister program with Glencree. In 2008, she retired from full-time work and began leading Global Volunteers teams to Corrymeela in Northern Ireland.

All our USA staff and volunteer team leaders are trained and experienced in managing diverse groups of people. All have completed our intensive team-leader training seminar. Further, all our team leaders are evaluated by the volunteers on each program, and must achieve an established level of performance in order to continue leading Global Volunteers teams.

You'll receive a description of, and contact information for your Ireland team leader approximately four weeks before your service program begins.
