Global Volunteers' Chinese project leaders have asked for assistance in three primary areas:

• Teaching conversational English to students of all ages
• Teaching English skills to teachers
• Caring for disabled and abandoned infants

English Teaching: Teach conversational English to students at the elementary, secondary and university levels. At summer language camps, students and volunteers meet for conversation and informal learning activities. Or help Chinese teachers of English learn the "fine points" of the language. While they are skilled in the rules of grammar and sentence structure, their ability to pronounce English correctly varies.

Child Care: Care for disabled and vulnerable orphans at a private foster home providing personal and compassionate care. Volunteers help the overworked local volunteers feed and diaper the babies and play with toddlers. Read on about the La La Shou Education Center.
